The Ruana Huichol Venado belongs to the Huichol capsule and is woven in 100% rayon thread using the backstrap-loom technique. Its open construction creates an enveloping layer onto which hand-embroidered applications are added.
The deer organizes the composition and concentrates the symbolic reading of the piece. Raised, colorful embroidery contrasts with the more continuous woven surface and adds depth without losing the material character of the loom.
Rayon yarn brings movement and a soft response to light. It is one size (UT), currently available in Black, Cemento, Crema and Gold, and can be worn over trousers and a top or over a plain dress.
