Garment Care Guide |

Every La Troupe piece deserves special care to preserve the beauty of its fabrics, embroidery, and finishes. We recommend following these guidelines based on your garment's material.

Linen

• Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water (max. 30°C / 86°F).
• Use mild detergent; avoid bleach and strong fabric softeners.
• Do not wring. Remove excess water by pressing gently.
• Dry in the shade, flat or hanging.
• Iron inside out at medium-high heat with steam.

Cotton

• Machine wash on a delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water.
• Use mild detergent; avoid chlorine and harsh bleaches.
• Dry in the shade; if using a tumble dryer, use a low heat setting.
• Iron at medium heat; iron inside out if the garment has embroidery or prints.

Silk / Silk Rayon

• Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent for delicate garments.
• Do not scrub or wring; gently agitate the garment in the water.
• Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
• Dry flat or hang in the shade; never tumble dry.
• Iron inside out at low heat, ideally with a pressing cloth between the iron and the garment.

Tulle / Mesh / Sheer

• Hand wash in cold water with a very mild soap.
• Do not rub or wring; press delicately to remove excess water.
• Lay flat on a towel to dry, always in the shade.
• Do not tumble dry.
• If necessary, iron inside out at a very low temperature or apply steam from a distance.

Rayon / Viscose

• Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle with cold water.
• Use mild detergent; avoid chlorine.
• Do not wring; the fiber is delicate when wet.
• Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade.
• Iron inside out at low-medium heat with gentle steam.

Polyester Blends

• Machine wash on a delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water.
• Use mild detergent without chlorine.
• Hang dry or tumble dry on low heat.
• Iron at low temperature, inside out.

Artisanal Embroidery

• Always wash inside out, ideally by hand in cold water.
• Do not rub directly on the embroidery.
• Avoid prolonged soaking.
• Dry flat or hang in the shade; do not tumble dry.
• Iron inside out with a pressing cloth between the iron and the garment.

Artisanally Dyed or Intense Colors

• Wash separately the first few times in cold water.
• Use mild detergent without bleach.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
• Dry in the shade and avoid high-temperature tumble drying.

If in doubt, we recommend always prioritizing hand washing, drying in the shade, and delicate care for every piece.
