The Cojín Contraste is a 50 × 50 cm piece made in 100% cotton on a backstrap loom, a Mexican textile technique passed down through generations that requires extended manual work to build each surface.
Its geometric diamond design is created by the weave itself. It is not a print applied afterward: warp and weft form the pattern as the piece is woven. This construction gives the design physical depth and gives the cotton a grain that can be perceived both visually and by touch.
The experience of the piece lies in the contrast between geometry and materiality. The pattern is precise and graphic, while manual execution introduces small variations that keep the surface from feeling industrially uniform. The result is restrained, tactile and easy to integrate without losing its identity.
Its 50 × 50 cm format works as a versatile mid-scale cushion for a sofa, armchair or bed. It is currently offered in Ivory, Negro and Chocolate, three variants that change the degree of contrast in the pattern without altering its woven construction.
Made in Mexico by Mayan communities. Slight irregularities are inherent to hand-loom work and form part of the character of each piece.
