The Ruana Alquimia belongs to Crisol and transforms the open structure of a loom-woven ruana into a piece with strong symbolic presence. It is woven in 100% rayon thread on a backstrap loom, creating a flexible surface with enveloping drape and the soft sheen of the yarn.
Two suns are embroidered in gold on the front. On the back, an eagle with open wings sits beneath the union of sun and moon. The composition visually expresses the union of opposites and uses the eagle as a symbol of majesty and closeness to the divine.
The material experience combines the mobile rayon weave with raised gold embroidery, adding contrast and denser focal points across the surface. It is one size (UT), currently available in White and Black.
Made in Mexico by Mayan communities. Each artisanal piece may show slight differences in weaving or embroidery.
