The Ruana Cayetana combines the open construction of a ruana with a woven 100% cotton manta surface and a hand-worked floral embroidered border. Its enveloping silhouette lets the textile fall freely around the body, preserving volume and movement without relying on a structured closure.
The entire perimeter is hand-embroidered in cross-stitch with a border filled with colorful flowers. The motif runs around the whole edge, allowing the detail to follow the shape of the piece and remain visible from different angles. The relief of the stitch adds texture and color over the woven base.
Tassels around the ruana visually extend the edge and respond to body movement. Against the more continuous manta surface, the tassels feel freer and more mobile, creating a transition between the body of the piece and the space around it.
It is one size (UT), and the current catalog includes Ivory and Black. It can be worn as a layer over other garments or directly against the skin on a cool evening, taking advantage of its open structure and enveloping drape.
