The Ruana Huichol Serpiente Sol belongs to La Troupe’s Huichol capsule. It is woven in 100% rayon thread on a backstrap loom and works as an open layer where a restrained textile base supports hand-embroidered appliqués.
The appliqués develop serpent and sun iconography in intense color. The difference between continuous weaving and embroidered areas creates contrast in texture, relief and saturation while preserving the material character of the loom.
The rayon yarn brings movement and a soft response to light. The open construction moves freely around the body while the appliqués maintain defined visual focal points.
It is one size (UT) and currently available in Black, Crema and Cemento.
Made in Mexico by Mayan communities.
